Stardust

About

A fairy-tale romance — a young man crosses into the land of Faerie to fetch a fallen star for his beloved.

Summary (from Wikipedia)

Stardust is a fantasy novel by British writer Neil Gaiman, usually published with illustrations by Charles Vess. It has a different tone and style from most of Gaiman's prose fiction, consciously written in the tradition of pre-Tolkien English fantasy in the footsteps of authors such as Lord Dunsany and Hope Mirrlees. It concerns the adventures of a young man from the village of Wall, which borders the magical land of Faerie.

Publication

First published 1997–98 as an illustrated four-part edition (DC Comics, illus. Charles Vess); text-only novel published 1999 (Avon) · adapted into a 2007 film.
